With over fifty years of family heritage in the show hunter arena, Lauren Flexon Marcinkoski comes from a long line of success on the national level with hunters and jumpers. In 1997, her family was honored to have Mary Swan Sprague Iselin’s thoroughbred gelding Cap N Gown inducted into the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame.
As a junior, Lauren had a successful junior career showing in the Medal/Maclay, USET Young Riders Talent Search Finals, as well as the hunter and jumper divisions under the training of Jack Towell and Ronnie Mutch. Some of Lauren’s more prestigious awards include guiding her mare, Moon Dance, to be the 2001 AHSA (USEF) horse of the year in the Regular Working Confirmation for Zone 4, best child rider for the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Shows, as well as championships throughout the country including WEF, the Washington International Horseshow, HITS, and many more. Starting her intercollegiate career at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Lauren had a successful intercollegiate tenure showing at the ISHA national horse show. In 2001 she had the honor of representing the United States at a collegiate nations cup in Hanover, Germany where she placed seventh. After transferring to Carleton College in Northfield, MN, she had great success as a Cacchionne Cup qualifier and IHSA national horse show top ten competitor for four consecutive years. As the coaching captain of the Carleton College equestrian team, Lauren also competed at the ANRC competition and led the team to many regional, zone, and national awards. After graduating Cum Laude with a combined degree in Sociology/Anthropology, Lauren enrolled at Georgia Southern University where she graduated with her MBA. Lauren is a USHJA certified trainer.
