Riding lessons and horse training available from a certified instructor and trainer!
Emily has been around horses her whole life. Trained her first horse at the young age of 12 and her second at 13.
Since then she graduated from one of the top Equestrian Colleges in the country with her training and riding instructor certifications.
Right out of college, she took over a boarding facility in southwestern PA that she successfully ran for 2 years.... (read more) She has now branched out on her own and is working on getting a small private riding and training program running.
My name is Emily and I graduated from Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre in 2011 with certifications as a horse trainer. I'll teach horses of all ages and all disciplines. Clinton Anderson was a huge influence on my training techniques, and I go out of my way to make sure your horse is taught what it is supposed to in a firm and fair way.
While Clinton Anderson had a big impact, my methods aren't limited to any one style. My belief is that every horse is different and that every horse will tell me their specific needs and learning style. I like to think outside of the box and listen to your horse to get you the best results. Flexibility is one of my best tools for horse training!
I demand respect from all horses, but I am never abusive; always kind, loving, and firm. If you want, I will also work with you to show you how to work with your horse when you take your horse home.
You are more than welcome to bring your horse to me! If that is the option you choose, I do it by the month. It is $400 a month to keep your horse with me. Half of that is for board (includes feeding and 24/7 turnout with run-in shed) and the other half is for 5 days a week of training. I will also drive to you if you prefer. It is $60 for an hour session in Somerset County and $70 for an hour session in Fayette County. Any farther than that, please get a hold of me for pricing. With that choice, I can only drive out once or twice a week depending on the distance.
Riding lessons are $30 an hour. If you would like me to come to you so you can have a lesson on your own horse, it's $40 for anyone in Somerset County and $50 for anyone in Fayette.
Please call or text me at 570-396-1653 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org I do work a full-time job, so if I don't answer please leave a message and I will call you back! Trainer: Emily Carter
