Nosara Farms in Odessa has two openings for full board in a lesson or training program. Our farm is located on 10 acres with plenty of room to ride. We also are a short walk to the reserve where you can go on miles of trails. We have a sand arena with a good base foundation. The footing is good and there are full length mirrors on the short side and lights for night riding. Our horses follow the same schedule every day. They are grained 3 times a day with morning turnout in grass fields.... (read more) They are hayed at lunch and in the evening. The stalls are 12x12 and look even bigger because they are open with horses able to see each other and stick their heads out. It is one of the coolest barns around when the sun is beating down in the summer the towering trees keep the temperature a few degrees cooler. Turnout is in groups or individual. Three adults live on the property and someone is usually always around.
Jane Whitehurst is a USDF gold medalist with 30 plus years in dressage training and overall horsemanship. Jane believes horses should have good ground manners and a trusting, obedient relationship with their owner this makes the riding a lot easier. Jane’s lessons always go to the basics of correct seat and balance for the rider and correct balance and rhythm for the horse. Safety is a number one concern for both horse and rider. Many of the students at Nosara farms participate in schooling and rated shows but there are some riders who like to just work on their learning through lessons and riding on their own. It’s all about the harmony!!!
