(read more) There should be no punishment in horse training. Instead, we use correction and repetition. I believe in some time on horses (on lounge line, no reins) as soon and as much as possible. Muscle memory can not be learned from a book or lecture. Staying on a horse is not riding but it is hard to be an effective rider if you can not stay on.
