Mingo has to be one of the most travelled horses on the planet. He was owned by a Rodeo pick up man in the Midwest for the majority of his life and hauled and used at PRCA, URA, IPRA, high school rodeos and everything in between. Went to Texas for a bit and used in ranching and team roping as a head horse. Then went to Louisiana horse tract to be used to train new race horses, before we got him for my 13yo son to learn to rope and ride on. Our thinking was he would take care of our son should my son get into a wreck putting one on a steer and turning it, he didnât disappoint.... (read more) He doesnât get rattled, but he does know whatâs going on when he steps in the head box, and a steer is in the chute, so heâs ready to go. Heâs great in the pen and out. Light neck rain or leg pressure as he has a some buttons presumably from his pick up days. Faster trot but nice slow lope and will go ANYWHERE you point him on the trail.Stands to bathe, shoe and saddle.
