Naomi is a six year old Spotted Saddle Horse mare. She and her filly Wynonna were rescued by a long-time Safe Harbor supporter who noticed them on along a rural road in a county were animal control doesn’t exist. After a brief negotiation with their owner, who indicated they were bound for a local sale, they became Safe Harbor horses.

Naomi is a friendly, easygoing mare. She leads, loads in a horse trailer, stands tied and is great for routine handling.... (read more) She has regained most of the 150lbs she needed, and we have begun the process of evaluating her level of training.

In her foster farm, she has been handled by pre-teen boys and does well for them. She has been saddled and given lead-line rides; her foster mom will begin riding her for 10-minute strolls around the farm the week of 11/9. We believe she would trail ride in a group for just about anyone, but she may need a more intermediate rider to ride out alone.
