We bought Krissy 2 years ago as a confidence builder for our then 6 year old. We got her from a little girl who had shown her extensively, however we aren't sure in what classes. Since then our son has moved up to a bigger, ranch horse that suit our purposes better.
She is around 13 years old and 12.2 hands high. She was used on our farm moving cows in pasture, general arena and pleasure riding, and a couple of gymkanas and local horse shows for our son in the Western Pleasure classes.... (read more)
Krissy is a fantastic pony but not recommended for an absolute beginner. She has never offered to buck, kick or bolt. She has never foundered and has great feet. She is excellent loading and great with the farrier. She can be ponied but also is not herd bound. She is the first to greet you in the pen and the most friendly and personable horse we have on our farm.
Our son has only showed him twice at our local fair and Krissy was excellent; in fact during one of the classes it was pouring rain with a live auction on one side of the ring and chuckwagon races on the other. She never once got distracted from her job.
Krissy definitely has some of that pony spunk to her which is why we don't recommend a beginner rider. However, she would be perfect for a show family who plans to use her frequently or for a bigger child with experience who wants a loving pet.
