"Carson" is a 16 1/2hh, 3 year old (four in the spring) Percheron/Thoroughbred Cross gelding. Exceptional type, he's built athletic with a naturally uphill, balanced build. One of a kind guy that could go so many directions! Carson is a puppy in the barn and loves people. He's well behaved for the farrier, bathing, clipping, grooming, etc. Carson was started under saddle at the beginning of the year and has been brought along slowly and correctly.... (read more) He's been out and is good on the trails. We've hacked him alone or with others. He's also been used to pony other horses. 100% safe with traffic. In the ring Carson is schooling walk, trot canter and has offered lead changes (though its not something we have pushed). He is naturally fairly balanced. He rides in a snaffle and is learning to go in a frame, although he rides comfortably and well paced on a loopy rein as well! He has a floaty trot and a slow, rolling canter. Carson has also been lightly schooled over fences and been exposed to a variety of things. He's brave and honest. He's putting together small courses and has a natural rhythm through the lines. He has a comfortable jump and tons of scope! We've jumped him over logs, coops, flower boxes, brush boxes and other typical arena fences. Carson is suitable for an amateur rider and we think he would make an excellent show horse, eventer or fox hunter. The sky is the limit with this guy! Okay for the less experienced rider under trainer supervision, or intermediate on their own. Quiet ride but easy to keep going! Not particularly spooky, no rear/buck/bolt. Pastures alone or with others. He's 100% sound with no vices.
