East Wind is a six year old Canadian Warmblood gelding with Hanoverian and Dutch Warmblood in his pedigree. He is an elegant, substantial gelding that is comfortable to ride - he has three smooth, elastic, quality gaits. East Wind was started later in life, given a full opportunity to mature and develop, and he is now ready for the winter's preparation for next year's show season!
East Wind is terrific on the trails, and has a very kind and quiet disposition.... (read more) His rhythmic trot is light and free, and his canter floats over the ground. He could be a great equitation prospect! He could also excel as a hunter, jumper, dressage or event horse - take him in any ring you want and develop him!
East Wind has the temperament for an amateur or junior rider to take him on now, with trainer involvement! He is healthy, has been wonderful to be around and handle. He was started outside in a field, so that speaks for his good mind!
He has had a few months of training, and some ground training prior to that. He is an excellent project horse for someone that wants to develop a horse to resell, as he will progress quickly and he is both attractive and athletic.
East Wind is by the stallion Excalibur. Excalibur is consistently producing offspring with a fantastic canter, and great jump. He is by the famous Escudo I, Hanoverian of the Year in 2009. Escudo has been in the top ranked sires for jumping horses in the world for a number of years. Excalibur's dam has the impressive Furioso II line. Furioso II, an Oldenburg, is considered to be one of the most influential sires in sport horse history, having many offspring excelling in show jumping to the Olympic level. On the bottom side, East Wind is out of a Zanzibar II mare. Zanzibar II was a licensed stallion in Alberta for a few years, before being gelded for a show career. He is by the famous Dutch Warmblood, Zeoliet, who was 12th in the World Breed Federation's rankings for show jumping sires in 1995. Zeoliet himself was by the very modern breeding stallion Ramiro and in his performance testing he scored a 9.2 for dressage, a 9 for jumping and a 9.5 for free jumping.
