"Chili" (6 yrs old) has been raised & trained by me since he was 6 months old. He was wearing a bridle, a saddle & had a child on his back since 7-8 months old. He was easy to start under saddle & never offered to buck. He could pass LEVEL 1 PARELLI ASSESSMENT AND IS READY TO GO LEVEL 2 PARELLI IF YOU WANTED TO CONTINUE HIS TRAINING THIS WAY..
I have ridden him on trails & horse-camped with him since he turned 2. He crosses water, goes over wooden bridges, thru train tunnels, opens gates, etc.... (read more) On trail rides, I get compliments from the time I take him out of the trailer, to the end of the trail ride!! Use him for trails and/or ranch work, AND teach him to be a rope horse! He's got a hard stop & could sure stop a cow!
Chili is not a horse for a beginner or a child due to the fact he's too smart!! I would like for his training to continue and for him to have a career - Not stay where he is.. He's very broke on the ground and has excellent ground manners/maneuvers.. He is broke to trail and green broke in the arena where he needs to be finished with his gears and handling. However, he is very light in the mouth and to your aides, he does sidepass, backs with a light touch, stops on a dime.. He trots with a cluck, and lopes with a kiss.. So, all he needs is to be finished/polished up.. He needs someone who can take him to the next level of his training, whether that's some reining type training for better handling, or roping training for a career on a ranch or roping, or more difficult trail endeavors, even dressage.. you name it...
Chili has a gorgeous, comfy trot and a really nice canter. If you want to do dressage, he's uphill in front and his hind end reach is very nice. He's not stiff or off - never had an injury or a lame day in his life. I can't say enough nice things about this horse.. I'm very proud of him. This horse could go many different directions, or make him an all-around work, family, play horse.. EMAIL ME FOR PHOTOS. PRICE 'MAY BE' NEGOTIABLE TO APPROVED HOME.
