Mister Frosty Wily, aka Willie, is a flashy, foundation built AQHA bay roan quarter horse. He has an athletic build, strong frame and a kind eye. I purchased him November 2013 for my daughter and as a project horse. Willie spent two seasons as a trail horse, at his previous job.
Willie has had an 8 month vacation. He wintered in a stall, with turn-out weather permitting, and has been field kept this spring/summer. He is young and currently acts green broke.... (read more) He is NOT for a beginner, but an intermediate/advanced rider should be fine. Willie is currently undergoing some refresher training. He is being ridden by a trainer once a week. He is a little spooky but is getting better with handling and training. (He thinks the saddle pad is going to eat him.) Willie hopped a few times during his first couple of refresher classes, but settled after the third ride. Willie is easy to lead and loaded/trailered fine when we purchased him. He has not traveled since coming to our farm.
He doesn't crib, bite, or kick. Willie is currently barefoot. He stands for the farrier, but you should know that it took us several trimmings and lots of patience to get him comfortable and standing calmly. I don't know how he will behave for shoeing, but he has allowed the farrier to fit him for boots. Willie single ties only, we have not started on cross-ties.
He is UTD on shots, worming, and farrier. His Coggins is current until November 2014. Willie is available to a good home only. He will be a fantastic horse for an experienced owner with a gentle hand and time to work with him. Please note that I will require veterinary references prior to purchase.
