Kros Butterhog AQHA 2013 Buckskin Gelding. Bred on the Krogman Ranch in South Dakota. I purchased him as a weanling and halter broke him and then he was turned out until this summer when we brought the colts back in to start their groundwork. He has had about three weeks of ground work on him. He has been started with the Clinton Anderson Fundamentals exercises. He can yield his hindquarters, forequarters, back up, lead, load, tie, lounge stage 1 and stage 2, circle drive, flex with the halter, stand for the farrier, can be caught in the pasture, and has been desensitized to the weight of a person.... (read more) He has a very solid and clear foundation and is ready to be turned out to grow until next year. This is a very smart colt that learns quickly, retains everything you teach him, and is very sensitive to pressure. He has been taught to give to pressure and not lean on pressure. His feet are solid and he travels well in our rocky hard black land. His dam is one of the ranches best mares and he should mature to 15HH and be very stout. He's got a keen head, big hip, wide chest, and ample bone. I really like this colt a lot but I do not have the time anymore to work with so many young horses so I have made the decision so sell most of my young horses. This is a very nice colt that will make someone a very nice ranch/cow/rope horse.
