I bought this mare about 2 months ago. I bought her for a little project for myself, hoping to make her into my next barrel horse. She needed some work and to lose some weight. Her attitude changed within a week of me having her and she is now in good physical shape. She really grew on me and I really wanted her to be my next barrel horse. I just don't think she has the want to be a barrel horse and it's really important to me that my horses enjoy their jobs.... (read more) I have rode her into the town of Horace and she does good with new situations! I rode her along Country 17 in the dark with cars flying past us at 55-60 MPH, didn't care at all. She has been to horse shows and does great with the atmosphere. I have taken her to a Team penning and she worked the cows really good for her first time. She was in the Horace bean days parade and didn't bat an eye at anything! In the 2 months I have had her she has been around and she took everything so well. If I owned my own place and didn't have to board, I would keep her just as an awesome reliable trail horse. I think she would make someone a great horse for pleasure riding/trail riding. She will go slow but will pick it up and run all over if you ask her to.
I think an intermediate rider who isn't a push over would get a long really well with this mare. I even think she would make a great kids 4h horse with just a little more riding.
She is located 2 miles north of Horace at boarding place. Call/Text Ally 701-793-4563. Leave a message. I work M-F, 9-5 normally.
Open to offers.
For a trade I would be looking for a 5-9 year old Reg. Quarter horse. Athletic and would be a good barrel prospect. Barrel training is not needed.. just want something broke with no buck. I don't mind having to work on a few things.
