Charlie was recently bought for my 12 yr old son who was a bit "intimidated" by size and attitude of some horses. Chuck was a safe bet for him as he is kind, gentle, SLOW MOVING, easy-going. He is the furthest thing from a spooky horse...NOTHING gets this guy. We have found him to be completely kid safe with all of our kids, well mannered and an "in your pocket" type of guy. He greets you, walks to you, easiest horse to catch and a pleasure to be around.... (read more) He's up to date on shots, rabies, worm, teeth, and feet. He loads great, so easy to handle, sweet and safe. He just ended up being TOO slow and mellow for my son, who now thinks he's ready for a little more adventure. Charlie was the perfect step for him, but we just don't have a job for him now (or a kid to ride him). He likes the arena or the trail all the same. Farrier and vet both said he is well-built, has good feet and is healthy. He's just not a strong worker so doesn't fit into our ranch work and eventing. He would be a great tag-a-long horse and sweet baby-sitter if your kiddo wants more WOE than GO. He is the cutest thing you've ever laid eyes on and matched with gentleness and kindness. If I could keep him as a pet I would ;) Really hoping there is a GREAT home to love him like he will you. He doesn't care if he is with horses or alone, and won't fight for position. A real easy-keeper...stayed nice and plump through the winter :) I will add, he is rusty when it comes to cues and commands. I think he knows more than he likes to make you believe...so an adult may really get him moving. But for my kids, he's a super slow mover. We were told he was trained and knew more than what they see him do, but my kids are small and not heavy handed or legged. Hope that helps, but feel free to call if there are questions I didn't answer.
