Hershey is a 7 year old solid Paint gelding. I bought him last year as a Children's Hunter prospect, but his heart isn't in it. I have decided to sell him to an approved home only, where someone will understand and respect that. Hershey will do best in a non-pressure environment where he will be loved on and treated with respect by one person. He would be well-suited to a child or beginner adult who wants to spend as much time loving on this guy and enjoying his puppy dog personality as riding.... (read more) He doesn't ask much, but needs someone to understand that he doesn't want to do more than trail ride on the weekends and come out once or twice during the week for arena work. Give him that, and he'll be your best friend. He does have a nice jump, and I can't see him minding going to a fun show once or twice a year; it's the day-in and day-out work, training, and pressure of being a performance horse that gets to him. He is by no means dangerous, but he starts to shut down and it is clear to me that he is unhappy. He is sound and sane, clips, ties, bathes, no vices at all.
If you're ready to give this handsome boy a home where he will be loved and enjoyed as a pleasure horse, please do not hesitate to come meet him. Contact Amanda M at 630.715.6425 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
