I am sad to let "Catman" go, but unfortunately I cannot afford him any longer. He is super flashy and has almost a purple glow to him. He is a dark bay with a huge blaze and two socks on the left side of his body. I bought him and he has been such an amazing horse that my whole family grew on. He comes right up to you from the stall (and i've only owned him 2 months) and loves to be loved on.
He is a Storm-cat baby.... (read more) His Dam was Cat Ballado, who's Sire was Storm-cat. And as you all probably know, Storm-cat's grandsire was the legendary Secretariat. So as you can tell his bloodlines are fantastic. Catman was actually kept a stallion up until 3 years ago, and has sired over 65 foals. His conformation is outstanding and was many breeding barns choice stallion for quite some time. His favorite snack is oranges and strawberries. And don't leave your purse open or hanging around him girls, he likes dumping them. He also knows how to untie an emergency release knot, and while you are tacking him up he will untie himself just to prove a point, but wont go anywhere.
PROS: He stands for grooming, farrier, teeth floating and sheath cleaning WITHOUT any sort of sedation. He ground ties, cross ties, and single ties no problem. He currently is fully shod. He has a solid walk trot and canter with lead changed and works beautifully from the hind end with no connection to the reins at all. I ride him on a loose rein and his head stays perfectly on the vertical no problem. He has a ground covering comfortable canter with a large floaty trot and amazing suspension. He has been schooled up to some second level movements and shown in first level. He has been hauled ALL OVER California with his previous owner no problem and LOVES water. He isn't spooky at all and hasn't once offered to spook at anything.
CONS: He is not suited for the absolute beginner, he is huge, therefore his stride is huge and he feels fast but you aren't really going too far lol. A while back he tore his collateral ligament and was off for 15 months, but came back strong and has returned to a hardworking career starting march of 2012.
Sound for some low level eventing but nothing crazy. Needs to be properly trained as he's only been over small cross bars but shows potential.
I have him priced at $9000 or best offer and he is well worth it. He has had a ton of training put into him and has cliniced with some amazing dressage trainers in the past year.
Here is a video of his 3 gaits, nothing special:) (Through the barn I purchased him from they had renamed him "Guapo" but I changed it back to Catman"
