Sterling is a big built gelding. He was a stud until he was 7 years old, and it is unknown if he was ever registered. The only issues with this big boy is that he needs secure fencing. Electric fencing or oil field fencing. And he needs a handler who isn't going to hit or spur the hell out of him. When he's nervous he bows. I have gotten him past this. And he is awesome for me. He is otherwise easy to handle and easy to ride. Loves attention, loves water, grooming, riding pretty much anything.... (read more) He has done dressage, western pleasure, parades and trail in the past, for the most part I ride him on trails and play in the arena. I was told he is not suitable for children and I have never tested him with kids, but my mother can handle him and he is great for her, she is a beginner horse person.
Easy to work with, easy to ride.
The only reason that I am re-homing him is that I have client horses that are coming in and a waiting list so I don't want to see him sit on the backburner, he is too nice a horse for that.
He would love to do endurance or trail trials. Anything where he would be with his person and working at something.
