5-Year-Old Gelding | 14.3 1/2 h| McCurdy Plantation

Crawfish is a 5-year-old, 14.3 1/2 hand NON registered McCurdy Plantation gelding that has been plenty of miles and has been exposed to a variety of situations. He has been ridden down the highway, gathered and sorted livestock, used as a work horse, and enjoyed as a trail horse.

One of Crawfish’s biggest highlights is how well he gaits.... (read more) He has a smooth, natural gait and can easily step up into a 10 mph gait without ever breaking into a canter. If you ask him to lope, he will pick up both leads as well….but he is exceptionally nice to ride when he is gaiting and can cover country comfortably without having to canter.

Crawfish is a handy, useful gelding that has seen more than just an arena. He has been put to work and has experience doing the things you would expect from a good using horse. He has been out in the real world and has been given plenty of opportunities to see different sights and experiences.

Crawfish is not an everyone-type horse, but we believe he would suit a confident, intermediate-level rider very well. For the right person, he could make an absolute dream horse. He has his own personality and really wants to be pocket friendly and easy to get along with. With someone who is confident and knows how to ride, he has a lot to offer.

Whether you’re looking for a smooth-gaited trail horse, a horse to put to work, or a versatile using horse that can conquer all the trails, sustain a call demeanor in traffic situations, or gather and sort livestock, Crawfish has the experience and ability to do it.

Crawfish is the kind of horse that has been used and has a job. He has plenty of miles, a great natural gait, and the versatility to go from the trail to the pasture and back.
