Looking for the PERFECT home — not just a buyer. ❤️
Still needs some training. He’s only 2.
Norman is a 2-year-old purebred Belgian Draft gelding, currently standing approximately 16.1 HH and estimated to mature around 18–18.3 HH.
And his eyes are absolutely unforgettable. ?
?? One stunning white/silver-blue eye
? One beautiful dark brown eye
His heterochromia gives him a truly unique, show-stopping look.... (read more)
Norman has approximately 90 days of professional training and has been worked under both Western and English saddles.
He is BROKE, willing, and incredibly smart for his age. He is definitely more whoa than go, and he genuinely wants to please his person.
? WHAT NORMAN CAN DO
• Trail started with no spook
• Multiple riders with no issues
• Used for a few lessons
• Ridden bareback in his halter
• Walked straight over poles the very first time he saw them
• Has not spooked at anything since I’ve owned him
• Comfortable around new experiences
• Turned out with both mares and geldings
• Extremely quick learner
• Great mover
• Naturally slower, steady way of going
• More whoa than go
• Willing and people-oriented
Every trainer who has worked with Norman has commented on how exceptionally intelligent he is and how quickly he learns.
If you show Norman something on the ground, he wants to figure it out.
? TROT & CANTER — STILL LEARNING
Norman has started his trot and canter, but they are not perfected yet and will need continued work.
He is ONLY 2, and I want to be completely honest about where he is in his training.
He is broke and has an excellent foundation, but I would recommend that his next person have some experience with young horses, at least while helping him finish developing his trot/canter and continuing his education.
That being said, Norman is an extremely quick learner. I genuinely believe that with someone consistently showing him what is expected and putting a few solid weeks of correct work into his T/C, he will catch on quickly and become much easier and more comfortable for the average rider.
He can occasionally have some baby-brain stubbornness, which is completely normal for a 2-year-old. ?
He is not a finished seasoned riding horse — he’s a very promising young horse with an excellent foundation.
? TRAIL PROSPECT
Norman is naturally calm and steady and has been exposed to trails without spooking.
His size is also an advantage — he can step over things that other horses have to go around.
I truly believe he could become an incredible trail horse and an all-around partner.
? FUTURE PULLING PROSPECT
With his size, strength, willingness, and people-pleasing personality, Norman could also be an amazing prospect for someone interested in developing him for driving or pulling.
He genuinely enjoys working with people and wants to please.
? THE SWEETEST GROUND MANNERS
Norman LOVES water. ?
He will stand to be bathed all day, and most of the time I don’t even need to put a halter on him. He’ll simply stand there and let me wash him.
He also:
✔️ Stands well for the farrier
✔️ Barefoot
✔️ No history of hoof issues
✔️ Just had his feet done
✔️ Not due for another trim for approximately 6 weeks
✔️ No known health issues or concerns
✔️ Up-to-date on everything
✔️ Extremely easy keeper
✔️ Can maintain condition without grain when needed
? ALL OF HIS STUFF GOES WITH HIM
This is a turnkey package.
Norman will come with ALL of his tack, feed, hay, grooming supplies, saddle pad, and other belongings.
The only thing he does NOT have is a saddle.
If you come to try him under saddle, you will need to bring a saddle that fits him, as the saddle currently being used belongs to his trainer.
