Additional Comments
Raf perfect horse to us,
Some horses are trained for performance. Others are shaped by life itself.
Raf is a 7-year-old black Purebred Arabian Stallion who has spent his entire life living naturally in a social herd environment. Raised outdoors with freedom of movement and constant contact with other horses, he has developed into a mentally grounded, cooperative, and emotionally balanced horse with a calm way of being around both people and animals.... He combines the beauty, charisma, and presence of the black Arabian horse with a relaxed and thoughtful temperament that is increasingly rare to find.
Temperament & Character
Raf is calm in daily handling, people-oriented, and easy to be around. He is curious without being anxious, attentive without being reactive, and enjoys human interaction when approached with calmness and respect.
He is used to:
* herd life and social interaction with other horses
* living outdoors year-round with shelter
* everyday activity around people, machinery, dogs, and farm life
* grooming, leading, and daily handling
He is not a horse who has been mentally shut down or isolated. He thinks, observes, and responds, while remaining grounded and cooperative.
Riding & Future Potential
Raf has been started under saddle and has shown himself willing, calm, and uncomplicated in his work. He is not sold as a finished competition horse, but as an honest horse with strong foundations, life experience, and significant future potential with the right partner.
He could suit:
* endurance riding
* leisure and trail riding
* classical or relationship-based training
* liberty work
* or a future life as a gelding and companion horse
Breeding
Raf has sired almost 20 foals and consistently passes on his strong mind, social nature, and beautiful black expression. He is one of the few black sons of Vervaldee and carries valuable old bloodlines including Lumiar Amadeus.
Management
Raf thrives best in environments where he can continue to have:
* freedom of movement
* turnout
* social contact with other horses
* calm and knowledgeable handling
He may remain a stallion or transition into life as a gelding depending on the wishes and setup of his future home.
Health & Background
In 2022, Raf suffered a hind leg injury after getting caught in fencing. He was treated professionally at a veterinary hospital and fully recovered. The injury left a cosmetic scar but no lasting tissue damage according to later veterinary evaluation. Videos of his movement are available.
The Right Home
This is not a rushed sale.
Raf is a very special horse to us, and finding the right long-term match matters far more than simply selling him quickly. We are looking for a home that values both the horse he is and the life he has lived.
Transport can be arranged.
If you feel something when you read this, I would love to hear about you, your horses, and the life you could offer him.
