Some horses are beautiful, and then there are horses like Shakira—the kind you notice immediately and don't forget.... (read more) Little Miss Inferno, affectionately known as Shakira, is an absolutely stunning chocolate palomino mare with dapples scattered throughout her rich coat, a luxurious silver mane, and a bright white tail. Her unique facial markings are truly one of a kind, featuring a bold, irregular blaze that stretches from her forehead all the way down to her soft pink muzzle. One striking blue eye framed by her white marking adds even more character to an already unforgettable face. Paired with three white socks, Shakira has a look that is impossible to overlook. She isn't just a pretty face. Shakira is exceptionally well-built, with a strong, substantial frame, plenty of bone, a lovely topline, a good hip, and balanced, correct conformation. She has the shape and substance you want in a performance horse while still maintaining a feminine, elegant presence. Her gorgeous looks are only the beginning of what makes this mare special.
Her pedigree is just as impressive as her looks. Shakira is sired by the infamous Inferno Sixty Six, a $220,000+ lifetime money earner whose progeny have already surpassed $5.7 million in earnings. Her dam, Wimpys Tejana Whiz, is by the legendary Wimpys Little Step and is a proven money earner and producer herself. She earned $12,799.05+ in the show pen and has produced $6,773.06+ to date. With only four foals of competition age, all four have already become money earners, making this a pedigree that is proven.
Shakira was previously in Brian Bell’s program, where she received a great foundation and developed a very cool style in her maneuvers. She has the foundation, talent, and natural ability to easily go back into a professional program and continue developing her career in the show pen. There is plenty of potential here for someone wanting a mare with the pedigree and ability to go chase earnings.
But Shakira’s talents certainly don't stop at the arena. She genuinely enjoys learning and is willing to take on whatever is asked of her. She is fun and dependable out on the trails, confidently going through water of all depths, across tricky terrain, over obstacles, and across bridges. She is traffic safe and takes new experiences in stride, making her a mare you can enjoy in a variety of settings. Shakira is a gorgeous mover, with a beautiful extended trot and smooth, flowing transitions. She has the way of going and presence that makes her just as enjoyable to watch as she is to ride.
Looks, pedigree, foundation, talent, and versatility—Shakira brings it all to the table. She has the breeding to make a serious show horse, the foundation to continue her career, and the willing attitude to be enjoyed outside of the show pen as well. Whether you're looking for your next performance prospect or simply a truly special mare to enjoy for years to come.
