Dutch is a registered Sport Draft “Pony” gelding standing 15.2hh. He has sadly out grown pony card. He is a 7-year-old black Percheron/Welsh Cob who is broke to drive and is respectful under saddle. With the right advanced rider in a structured program, he has the potential to excel in any discipline. Being part draft, Dutch can occasionally be pushy on the ground; however, he respects fence lines and paddocks without issue.... (read more) Under saddle he is extremely willing and brave, though he does tend to be timid when hitched.
I have owned Dutch for nearly four years and, due to a busy schedule and recoveries from my personal surgeries, have been unable to give him the time he deserves. He is ready to find his person and his path.
Dutch is excellent for the vet, farrier, baths, and trailer loading. He trail rides, does arena work, and lunges well. I have jumped him with no problems. He can go out in a group but does prefer to be the boss.
He is an easy keeper—one serving of ration balancer per day and first-cut hay. He is not picky.
I would feel guilty continuing to keep him when I have so little time to offer and he needs a job. Serious inquiries only, please—I want nothing less than the best fit for him.
