Barrel Prospect • Polo Prospect • 5-Year-Old Thoroughbred Mare
Looking for your next barrel prospect or a fun polo pony? Meet "Martini" (JC: Aubrey's Unbridled), a 5-year-old Thoroughbred mare that never raced or trained to race.
Martini stands 14.2 hands and has excellent barefoot feet with no issues. She has been lightly restarted with approximately four rides and has been incredibly willing.... (read more) She was loped through the barrel pattern on just her second ride and took to it naturally. she had now carried flags and been trail ridden many times.
She is an athletic, uphill mover with a floaty trot and a balanced uphill canter that are both comfortable to ride. She's been a pleasure to work with and is ready to continue in any direction.
Martini has no true vices aside from a typical mare attitude on the ground—she may pin her ears at feeding time, but it does not carry over under saddle. She previously cribbed but has not attempted to crib with 24/7 access to hay. She will come with a cribbing collar, which successfully prevented the behavior when used.
If you're looking for a handy, athletic mare with a solid foundation and plenty of potential, Martini is ready for her next home.
