After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to offer Rock Salt for sale. I currently have two younger horses that have taken priority, and he deserves someone with more time to put into him.
Rock Salt is an incredibly sweet, in your pocket gelding. He’s the first one to meet you at the gate, loves attention, and will happily fall asleep while being groomed or standing on the cross ties. I have multiple photos of him falling asleep right in my arms. He’s easy to catch and enjoys being around people.
Rock salt has experience with flat work, I’ve brought him over small cross rails, we’ve even gone around barrels in the western saddle, however due to my schedule, he hasn’t been in consistent work over the last several months, so he is being sold as a horse that will need someone to continue bringing him along.
He is not a beginner horse and would be best suited for an intermediate rider working closely with a trailer or an experienced rider. He can be spooky at times, the most he’s done is look and take a quick step the other direction, his spook typically happens when he’s not in consistent work. When he lacks confidence in his rider, he can become sticky going forward and may stop, this mostly happens after he’s had time off. He does best with a confident rider who will ride him forward consistently, Rock salt occasionally needs encouragement picking up one lead correctly and would benefit from someone who wants to put him into consistent work so he can continue developing.
Rock Salt loads, bathes stands well for the vet and farrier, and has been hauled off property multiple times, he was quite and well behaved while off property. He rides alone or with other horses, I have taken him on trails however I wouldn’t advertise him as a trail horse.

The right home is most important to me. He will only be sold to a home that will continue the management that he has done well with, including front shoes while in work and regular stall time. I would love to see him find one person to continue his training and enjoy him as I don’t think he’d do well in a lesson program.
