Buddy** is a miniature donkey gelding born **May 23, 2024**, standing approximately 35" at the withers (about 8 hands tall). He is an absolute sweetheart and has been with me since he was a weanling.

Buddy has been taught the same ground manners as my horse and has been trained using Parelli methods. He is intelligent, willing, and loves to learn. He leads, stands tied, is up to date on vet and farrier care, and absolutely loves attention, grooming, and being handled.... (read more)

He has participated in nativity scenes and petting zoos and is always quiet, polite, and well mannered. The only time he gets vocal is when his horse companion leaves the pasture, and even then he settles down within a few minutes. Otherwise, he is a very quiet donkey.

If you've always wanted a donkey but worried about the typical donkey attitude, Buddy may be the perfect fit. I'm fairly certain he believes he's a horse and has honestly been just as easy, if not easier, to work with than some horses I've met.

Buddy has been a companion to my 15-hand Quarter Horse and gets along well with dogs, cats, chickens, goats, and sheep. He has never shown aggression toward any animal. Please note that while donkeys can be protective, Buddy is **not** a guardian animal. As a miniature donkey, he could be vulnerable to dogs or coyotes, and I would prefer he go to a home with another equine companion.

The only reason I'm selling him is that I am needing the pasture space and unfortunately don’t have room for him anymore. Finding the right home is very important to me. He would make a wonderful companion for kids or anyone looking for a friendly pasture buddy to love and spoil.
