Guppy is a super athletic prospect with a lovely walk, trot, and canter. He has been started under saddle (walk/trot) and has also been introduced to driving, proving his versatility and willing nature. Meet the Owners Hana Poulin – Co-Owner & Head Trainer Hana Poulin’s lifelong passion for equestrian sports began at an early age, learning to ride and drive horses under the guidance of her parents, Lawrence Poulin and Michal Gould, at her family’s Highland Dressage Center in Maine. Her father, a 10-time USA Team member at the World Pairs Combined Driving Championships, and her mother, a highly decorated dressage and driving competitor, provided Hana with an unparalleled foundation in the sport. As a junior competitor, Hana trained her Welsh Cob pony, Panadama Merry Bell ("Cricket"), to numerous championships, including the Canadian Classic Best Junior Driver, New England Welsh Cob Champion, and Combined Driving Reserve Champion at The Laurels. Cricket remained a beloved schoolmaster pony at the farm until his passing in 2020 at the age of 31. Hana made her FEI debut in 2011 and has earned her United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals. Competing with her Lusitano gelding, Agamemnon Da Raposa ("Agi"), she has secured multiple top placings at the New England Dressage Association (NEDA) Championships and continues to compete at the FEI level. To further her expertise, Hana is also enrolled in the prestigious USDF 'L' Education Program for dressage judges. Known affectionately by her clients as the “Mary Poppins” of horse training, Hana is celebrated for her calm demeanor and creative problem-solving. She approaches every horse as an individual, finding effective, positive solutions to challenges in temperament, care, and training. Hana’s Training Background: Hana has had the privilege of training with some of the most respected names in the industry, including: •Larry Poulin: 10-time USA Team member (Combined Driving) and 8-time USET Champion. •Michael Poulin: 1992 Olympic Bronze Medalist and founder of the North American Dressage Trainers Association. •Rodrigo de Matos: Director of the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art. •George Williams: USDF Grand Prix Horse of the Year and highly decorated international competitor. •Michelle Gibson: 1996 Olympic Bronze Medalist and first American to earn the German “Golden Rider Medal.” •Bill Warren & Bill McMullen: Highly respected USEF Dressage Judges and USDF Gold Medalists. •Gwyneth McPherson: USDF Gold Medalist with over 30 years of training and teaching experience. •Adam Cropper: USDF Bronze, Silver, Silver Bar, and Gold Medalist and USEF 'R' Dressage Judge. Adam has trained numerous horses and riders of various breeds to the FEI level and is renowned for his expertise in horse behavior, psychology, and classical dressage technique. Jessie Matson – Co-Owner Jessie Matson’s love for horses began at the age of eight, taking weekly lessons at a farm very much like Moonlight Equestrian Center. As a teenager, she owned a beautiful Paint horse named Totem Pole, who taught her invaluable lessons and fueled her passion for the equestrian lifestyle. After stepping away from the barn to raise her three beautiful children with her husband, Ned, Jessie’s love for horses drew her back. She re-entered the equestrian world alongside her daughter, eventually purchasing their beloved pony, Ashland Seren (affectionately known as the "Honey Badger"). In 2022, Jessie welcomed her Hanoverian gelding, Water Proof HU ("Wally"), into her life. Wally is more than just a horse to Jessie; he is her best friend and guardian angel. Jessie believes that being able to ride and love a horse is one of life’s greatest gifts. Her warmth, dedication, and deep appreciation for the healing power of horses are central to the welcoming, supportive atmosphere at Moonlight Equestrian Center.
