Modelo is a handsome 10 year old, 14.3 hand dun Quarter Horse gelding with the kind of disposition that’s becoming harder and harder to find. Safe enough for kids, beginners, and intermediate riders, yet broke and responsive enough to be appreciated by a more experienced horseman, he truly is an all around partner.
In the arena, Modelo is a pleasure to ride. He stands quietly until asked to move off and willingly rides from your seat and leg cues. He has a smooth, easy one hand neck rein, is soft in the bridle, and has a comfortable, relaxed way of going that makes every ride enjoyable. He will trot on a loose rein or collect up nicely when asked, lopes smooth circles on a draped rein, and easily picks up either lead. He also rides English, giving his next owner even more versatility. With his quiet mind, willing attitude, and steady way of going, Modelo would make an excellent ranch riding or ranch versatility horse.
Outside the arena, Modelo is just as dependable. He has been ridden through rough terrain and is confident crossing logs, water, brush, and uneven ground without hesitation. He is happy to ride out alone, lead a group, or quietly follow along behind. Dogs and everyday commotion don’t bother him, and he willingly carries a flag, showing the kind of confidence and level head that make him enjoyable to take anywhere.
Modelo’s calm demeanor is one of his greatest qualities. He isn’t the type to be in a hurry and is always willing to take care of his rider.
