Luchetta’s Red Hot Coal

Coal is a 37” AMHR registered Black Pinto gelding that was foaled 4/10/2023. He is a pure Shetland bred horse and is gorgeously refined and built for the show ring, he just needs the right human to get him there. His pedigree is packed with successful show horses, with his sire achieving his Hall Of Fame. Coal is a nervous guy so needs some confidence building, however he ties, baths, lunges, loads on a trailer, will let you spray him with fly spray, leads nicely, and will even swim in the lake.... (read more) His vice, he is not very good about his rear feet being touched or lifted. This is a fear issue and not aggression! He does not kick or bite. When he was gelded, he got a bad infection and it had to be treated with being hosed and have an iodine spray put on it. It was not a fun experience for him and now he is very nervous about his rear end. He needs somebody to work him through this. Now he does get his rear feet trimmed and I have a great farrier who is very slow with him and gets the job done. He is UTD on coggins, Vaccines: Rabies/EWT/West Nile Combo, Flu-Rhino, and Potomac. He also s current on worming and hoof care, as he was a trimmed every six weeks.
Lastly he does have a slight locking stifle. He seems to only lock when he stands at his grain dish. I have a video of it and it’s not severe. It does not hinder his forward movement and it has gotten better over the last few months. He will only be offered to a horse experienced home who knows basic training with nervous horses. I got him as a companion for my stallion. He suffered impaction colic and is on a special slow feed diet and now has to be by himself or everyone eats his feed. I have basic knowledge for training and I can handle Coal. To find someone who can fine tune him and give him confidence would be the best!
I have lots of videos of him being bathed, lunged, desensitized, having his hooves trimmed, loading on a trailer and just being handled so just ask if you want to see them.
