Looking for an upcoming fall trail riding partner, and so on? Lakota is a chocolate Rocky Mountain mare with the stocky traditional build. She stands at 14.1h. Loads and trailers great, as well as standing tied at the trailer. On the trail, she crosses water, rides great in any position of the herd, doesn’t get antsy after moving out, and has a smooth 4 beat gait and canter when asked. She is level headed, responds to neck reining, and easily collected.... (read more) Stalls great and stands for the farrier. Barefoot and has hardy feet. Top of the pecking order in the pasture and she’s an easy keeper. Her only not-so-quirky thing is that she’s going blind in her left eye, but it has been slowly for 2 years, it hasn’t affected her.
The reason for selling is that my mother lost her horse of 26 years and had bought Lakota as her replacement. But she lost all confidence and will to ride and now hardly does. There’s no one else who has time to ride her and it’s not fair to her. Lakota is far too good a horse to sit.

She is not registered but can be! We have her parents but breeder did not register her.
