Meet Pal, a 2021 paint gelding who has been in our program for a little over three years. Pal is the kind of horse that will steal your heart and be a favorite to ride and handle. Pal’s groundwork includes but is not limited to:

Round penning & lunging
Extensive desensitization, including tarps, flags, kites, and gunshot
Yielding the fourquarters/hindquarters
Backing up
Flexing the head and neck/breaking at the poll
Multiple variations of groundwork exercises

Pal has had extensive hauling, jumps, crosses water, is good around dogs and likes to work cattle. You can throw a rope off of Pal or spend the day taking him on the trail. Pal has been exposed to all sorts of desensitization, including gun shot. He is hobble trained, crosses tarps, and is comfortable around traffic and public riding spaces. Under saddle, Pal pivots, yields the hind quarters, side passes and backs up easily. Pal rides one-handed, maintains the gate you put him in, picks up both leads, and has wonderful upward and downward transitions. Pal can be laid down easily and mounted from the lay down position.

Pal has no vices, keeps easily and tends to be more dominant in a herd setting. I recommend a full set of shoes if he is to be rode on rougher terrain as he tends to be a little tender.

A beginner to intermediate rider would be best suited for Pal. PPE’s welcome.
