Skye - late teen, 14.3 stocky sweetheart looking for a simple, easy life. I recently bought him as a lesson horse prospect and he is just not up for that job. I did not do a ppe - I needed a good brain and was willing to put in some tlc into his body but despite my best efforts, it is not fair for me to ask him to do the walk/trot/canter lesson job.
He would like a simple life being loved on and go for walks, maybe a little trot or canter here and there.... (read more) He has impeccable ground manners and is very excellent to be groomed, hand walked, tacked up etc. VERY safe in the arena - nothing has fazed him. He has let us know that he is not up for the lesson horse role ... basically he will grow roots and not want to move or cut corners. A decent rider can persuade him without a lot of effort and does have a very smooth trot and canter. We have ridden him out and around our property and he followed beautifully without any issues. I think he could be a great therapy horse.
He came to me very sore - feet too long in too small of a shoe, muscle knots everywhere and very out of shape. We have been slowly building him back up to fitness and comfort. He does best on bute with frequent farrier visits (we have him on 4 week schedule at the moment) and body work if he's asked to do more than walk. He's a great companion and was babysitting foals/young horses in his previous barn. Asking low 4s to a good home. Up to date on all vaccines/coggins/farrier. Located in Brentwood, NH
