For those who are dedicated, kind, and patient looking for an equine partner still filled with life in their eyes, inner fire, a curious mind and an eagerness to learn. Especially For those who have began implementing, currently use, or are curious/ beginning R+ and liberty.

Gg came to my family when she was only a little over a year old.
When she came to us, she was skittish, unhandled, and afraid of people.
It took her a week to finally warm up to people being in her space, and touching her. She had no idea how to communicate with people, let alone lead on a halter. With patience, she learned to accept the halter and be led, but we repetitively ran into issues. From the very beginning, Gg was strong headed, and force only worsened things. That’s when I decided to try Liberty and R+ methods, which didn’t make her perfect or less determined, but finally she would be willing to work together, and could be really fun to engage with and play with.
Gg has always been wild at heart and it is unknown what her background is or her bloodlines. But it’s possible there is mustang in her given her build, height, and nature. Gg was bought by a family member off of Craigslist for only a couple hundred dollars. At the time, she was bought to be a pasture buddy for a sick and dying elderly horse. There was no plan for her. Eventually, she landed in my lap, and I continued to care for and do basic groundwork with her. At those times, I didn’t believe in riding the horses, and I only wanted to spend time with them and learn their ways. And I decided that if we were to ride one day, it wouldn’t be until after she was 6 years old. Now she is about 7, and she has worn a bareback pad, but we have not gone further than this. So in her new home, she is ready now to begin learning under saddle.
We have played around in the past with jumping, obstacles and going out for little walks on nearby trails/ neighborhoods. She does well when given frequent exposure, like any horse. I can see her being a fun adventure pony.
Gg is an interesting combo of independent and can be on her own, to being herd friendly and everyone’s buddy. But overall, she sticks to herself unless she has a close friend, and stays out of other’s way. She is independent minded and you can tell, is always asking questions in her mind in her own horsey way. She wants to approach things in different ways. And additionally, she can be unconcerned about barriers, so be mindful of this!! She will jump or plow through things if determined, she’s clever.
The reasons for needing to rehome Gg now, is personal health struggles, changing locations, not having proper means to give her all she deserves and requires as well as having an additional horse in another location, it has become unsustainable and unfair to keep the both of them and give them what they need, as well as what I need currently in my own life. But the horses have been my life, and it’s extremely important to me that the horses are given the right and freedom to be as they are, in a space and treated with methods that adheres to their nature as best as possible. Therefore, I ask that any interested in being the new home for Gianna, that they be willing to give her this to their greatest ability.
Gg of coarse leads on the halter, and responds very well to even light pressure on the lead. Gg is a sensitive horse who requires patience but is so loyal and loving when given space to process and be herself, and will be eager to play and engage, and present her own unique ideas.
She stands for trimming, and lifts her feet. She is and always has been barefoot, with strong healthy hooves. She is up to date on her dentistry. But she is not up to date on vaccinations. UTD on deworming.
Gg has some difficulties with tying,
And struggles with the trailer.
We have worked more regularly in the past with our trainer, Sam Erdmann, who has really helped Gg center in herself. But still, Gg remains somewhat wild, and remains a project. She has not been in consistent training for a while. This is a horse fit for someone who is either willing to work with a horse themselves and with Sam, or on their own, who is ready and willing to take on the task of teaching a young horse. It would be great if you have some familiarity with R+, however any unique methods are welcome as long as they are compassionate. It is just important to know that her baseline is R+ and this is really what has worked best for her, as well as this is the ideology our trainer works with.
I am willing to pay initially for some continued lessons with Sam if Gg is bought, as it clears up the main bills of her care and gives some room to afford training. I recommend keeping Gg in the same location for the first month, to have her worked with and then transporting her after to your desired location. We can transport her to you, and the month she stays with our trainer can be covered by her purchase fee. What matters to me most is giving Gg what she needs, helping her new person to care for her, and making sure she is safe and loved.
