2012 IALHA Andalusian (S) gelding, 15hh, ready for his next competitive home. Tino is the horse who has done it ALL: shown working equitation (L3 and can easily go higher) and dressage, trail ridden, packed, hunted, ponied colts and pack mules, GUN BROKE, moved cattle in the mountains and on the flat, and jumped for fun (up to 2'6).
Tino was born and bred to be a working equitation mount. He knows all of the obstacles and has been extensively shown and ridden in clinics in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona.... (read more) Tino consistently scores in the mid 60s at L3 and can easily be taken higher with a skilled and consistent rider.
Tino has spent time in the mountains being ridden on hunting trips, ponying a pack string, and moving cattle. He has also moved cattle on the flat and in mesquite. He is particularly talented at chasing and cutting cows, he's quick and sure footed.
In the mountains, he is better than any other horse or mule I've ridden. This horse moves like a cat; he is agile and won't quit moving forward until the ride is over for the day. He has traversed steep, loose, rocky mountain sides with no hesitation. He is accustomed to dogs and hounds running underneath his feet and hiding in the bushes. He's polite and won't kick or bite them. Tino is hobble broke and will tie on a picket line.
I have shot a .22 and 9mm off his back. He stands still and doesn't throw a fit.
For fun I've jumped him up to 2'6 and he has scope for more. He's been ridden in town and around ATVs and dirt bikes, he is traffic safe.
Tino has excellent ground manners. No pushiness, no vices, no bad behavior. Great for the vet and farrier. Currently UTD on feet, teeth, and vaccines.
Tino is a sensitive ride and needs an educated and confident rider. Tino will only be sold to an experienced rider or trainer because he doesn't tolerate a sloppy leg or a hard hand.
I'm in no rush to sell him and will be very picky as to where he goes. I have owned him for 5 years; Tino has given me everything during this time and has taught me more than any other horse.
