This big, beautiful mare sold for $110k in the 2014 Ocala Breeder’s Sale as a two year old. She is a massive, stout girl with a calm, confident presence. Always easy to work with. She has a quiet, queenly, and willing temperament: loads, leads, bathes, ties, stands for vet and farrier perfectly.

First Service is by Ghostzapper, out of a Mineshaft (AP Indy) mare.

Ghostzapper is most known for his incredible triple digit speed figures and stellar performance in the 2004 Breeder’s Cup Classic: a multiple G1 stakes winning speed horse with a whopping $3.44 million LTE. “Mercy” is 75% sister to Prime Time Player (2018), another solid Allowance runner, and stakes placed mare Enliven (2016). She is of close breeding to the multiple black type and G1 stakes placed and stakes winning gelding Banishing (2020) with LTE at nearly $3 million and still on the rise, and Mystic Guide (2017), a nearly 8 million dollar G1 stakes winner.

Other notable close crosses include G1 stakes placed and stakes winning mare Champagne Problems (2014), stakes winning and stakes placed Exacting (2019), black type stakes placed and solid allowance earner Fleetridge (2018), and stakes winning mare Getridofwhatailesu (2016).

“Mercy” is royally bred. We offer her in foal to Blizzard Warning (2022) for a 2027 foal. She is an A++ Nick on sons of Bodemeister.

Blizzard Warning (2022) is a JC registered buckskin splash white spotted Thoroughbred stallion and registered VA Thoroughbred Sire. This stallion boasts genetics from Virginia’s very own Bodemeister (2009), a multiple G1 stakes winning and placed performer with over $1.3 million LTE and Bernardini (2003), a multiple stakes placed and stakes winning stallion with over $3 million LTE.

“Mercy” would be a big asset to a Thoroughbred breeding program, or cross her on Warmbloods for an irresistible Hunter prospect. She is being sold as a broodmare, but her previous owner said her grandkids had a lot of fun riding her around.
