Lance is a wonderful 15 year old Appendix type gelding who's looking for his forever home! Lance stands 15.3 hands and is a gentleman on the ground. He is easy to catch, tie, and fly spray. He is very good for the vet and farrier. He does require front boots or shoes to be ridden as he has thin soles.
Under saddle, Lance would be the perfect partner for someone looking to do English flatwork or light trail riding! Lance will not be your next preformance horse.... (read more) He needs an easier life than that at this time.
Lance will go w/t/c easily and has very smooth transitions. He does have some backend arthritis that is manageable with daily equioxx. Because of his back end arthritis, picking up the right lead in the canter can be uncomfortable for him, so hes happiest just staying in the left lead in both directions. He is not at all spooky in the arena or around the barn. His favorite thing is seeing people because they give pets and cookies!
Lance does best with 24/7 turnout, but doesn't mind being stalled for short periods when necessary. Lance would love 1 or 2 other gentle horses to be buddies with in the pasture.
Lance would be suitable for an advanced beginner rider and up. He would not enjoy being part of a lesson program.
He is adaptable through Star Child Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in Clyde NC.
