“Barney” is a 3 year old BelgianX gelding standing right about 16.2hh. This handsome guy is a true gentleman with an exceptional disposition and the kind of temperament that makes him a pleasure to have around the barn. He has fantastic barn and ground manners, he stands for the farrier, stands tied all day, stands to be groomed, pampered and tacked. Barney is green with a lovely start. He has three easy gaits, a nice stop and stays soft and responsive in a snaffle.... (read more) He is confident on the trail, whether riding alone or in a group, and is happy to lead, follow, or ride in the middle of the group. He will hack out English or Western but is mainly ridden Western. Barney has more woah than go but is not a deadhead and is willing to pick up the pace when asked. Barney is not spooky or looky when introduced to new things. For his age and level of experience, he is remarkably brave and level headed. He takes new situations in stride He will cross bridges, water, mud, ravines, you name it. This dude can go in absolutely any direction. He wants to learn and catches onto things quickly.
Under harness, Barney spent the winter driving and has a really nice start under his belt. He is ready for someone to finish him out under saddle, under harness or both!
