Freddy is an absolute blast to drive and brings the flashy, animated movement that Hackney ponies are known for — all without any special shoes. He naturally carries himself with eye-catching action and gives you that exciting, elegant feel while still remaining sensible and enjoyable to drive.... (read more) Freddy is a more forward pony, as most Hackneys are bred to be, but he is absolutely not a runaway or out of control. He simply has a strong, confident feel in the reins and enjoys having a job to do.

This talented pony drives beautifully both in the arena and out on the trails. He has been driven for several miles on quiet back roads as well as busier main roads and has proven himself to be dependable in traffic. Freddy is comfortable around normal vehicles and bicycles and handles everyday traffic very well. Like many ponies, he is not particularly fond of loud semi trucks hitting their jake brakes, so we like to be upfront and honest about that, but outside of that he has been a very enjoyable and reliable driving pony.

One of Freddy’s best qualities is his outstanding personality. He is truly one of the nicest ponies to be around and absolutely loves people. Freddy is kind, quiet in the barn, and genuinely wants to be your best friend. He enjoys attention and is wonderful to groom, bathe, clip, and handle daily. He is respectful in his stall, easy to manage in the pasture, and gets along well turned out in a mixed herd with horses and ponies of all sizes.

Freddy is the type of pony that combines fun, style, personality, and practicality into one very attractive package. Whether you are looking for a fun driving partner, a flashy recreational pony, or simply a kind companion to enjoy around the barn, Freddy is ready to become someone’s special pony.
