Bristol is a 2017, 16.... (read more) 2-hand silver dapple draft cross gelding with extensive experience and an outstanding foundation. He is, without question, one of the safest and most dependable draft crosses we’ve ever had the pleasure of riding and absolutely the brokest as well.
Bristol has an incredible personality and absolutely loves attention. He will meet you at the gate and is always happy to be around people. He has impeccable ground manners and is excellent for the farrier, bathing, tying, hauling, stalling, and turnout.
Under saddle, Bristol is truly exceptional. He rides bareback, western, English, and can even be ridden bridleless. He is extremely responsive to leg cues, picks up his lope effortlessly from a standstill, has a beautiful turnaround, and executes flying lead changes with ease. He has a willing attitude, calm demeanor, and adjusts perfectly to his rider — quiet and uncomplicated for beginners, yet talented and refined enough for experienced riders wanting all the “fancy buttons.”
Bristol has been trail ridden extensively, ridden down busy roads, used on the ranch, and has even roped and doctored calves. He is traffic safe, incredibly level-headed, and has yet to spook at anything we’ve encountered. Most importantly, he is GENTLE in every sense of the word. No buck, no silliness, and he handles time off like a true professional.
He is also lightly started over fences and shows tremendous natural ability. Bristol is bold, willing, and straightforward to the jumps with plenty of scope. He has natural collection, an easy-to-sit jog, an elegant extended trot, smooth upward transitions, and soft, balanced downward transitions.
Bristol is sound, straight, clean-legged, and an easy keeper. He is up to date on all care and is ready to excel in absolutely any direction.
