Tall, dark and absolutely unforgettable, with the elegance of a Fresian and the athleticism of a quarter horse. If you want a horse that will get you noticed, then check this one out. Maverick has the kind of natural presence that turns heads whether he is standing tied in the barn or loping across the pasture. He is a 5 year old Fresian/Quarter horse gelding, 15.2hh and beautifully built with a ton of bone, size 1 shoe, a gorgeous head and plenty of shape.... (read more) Maverick is gentle and good minded, with a quiet nature and a willingness to work. He has been started correctly and has all the fundamentals down, and is ready to be finished in whichever direction you choose. Whether you want a trail partner, ranch horse, or an eye-catching show prospect, he has the mind and athletic ability to do it all. He is currently being ridden by a 75 year old. Maverick has been used in the feedyard pushing and sorting cattle, and has been ridden extensively out on the ranch. He has been started roping and doctoring cattle, and has the makings of an excellent ranch horse. Maverick has the smoothest trot you could sit to all day long without getting sore, and a rocking horse lope. He is good on both leads, stops easily and really wants to ride around correctly. He travels out well in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. Maverick has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, has excellent ground manners, is good for the shoer, loads easily, and stands quietly tied. He will ride out alone as well as with a group, will happily lead or follow, and has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
