Flash is a 7yr-old dun gelding. I bought him as a 2yr-old to start and broke him to ride, but life happened and now I sadly don’t have time for him anymore. I think he’d be a great cow or trail horse when he’s finished.
He’s got a great foundation on him (just watch the videos) and he’s very soft.... (read more) He’s the sweetest horse you’ll meet. He’s very curious and loves to check everything and everyone out. He’s been easy to train. Stands like a gentleman for saddling, mounting, and dismounting; stands for farrier, is barefoot, and is on the lazy side. He has a good mind and learns fast. He just needs someone to finish him.
⏱️TRAINING:
He has tons of groundwork on him and is very soft (lunging, backing, desensitizing, flexing the neck, ect.).
He does very well riding in the hackamore. He has been ridden lots in the roundpen and a small arena and some in the pasture. He responds very well to “go” squeezing with leg pressure and listening to rider’s seat to stop and does one-rein stops. In the video, a kid is riding him for the first time and he took it like a champ.
He’s been around lots of cattle with no issues though hasn’t worked any yet. Also been around donkeys, dogs, and cats.
With that said, he is a project horse, and not for a beginner.
❤️He has some scarring on his legs but is sound to my knowledge.
He tested negative for Coggins in 2024 when I moved him out to the ranch and I haven’t taken him anywhere since then. But in other words, he’s not current on Coggins testing.
Vet checks are welcome at the ranch at buyer’s expense.
