Meet Soli — a sweet natured beautiful 10-year-old (maybe slightly younger) palomino mare standing 15hh. She is grade to my knowledge and only has one eye, but don’t let that define her. She is a solid-minded and willing mare who appears to have a foundation and just needs time and consistency.

Soli originally came to a friend of mine over a year ago as a pasture companion and was believed to have previously been used as a broodmare.... (read more) Gets along great with mares, geldings, and ponies alike. Due to downsizing, she’s come to me to find the right home and evaluate what she knows along the way.

Her first week here she showed some buddy sour tendencies, which she is quickly overcoming. She saddled quietly within days of arriving and stood tied with no bad habits — no bucking, no cold-backed behavior, no funny business. Just a little moving her feet early on as she adjusted. She naturally has a relaxed demeanor and is not spooky.

As of today, she is tacking up great — stands for the saddle and bridle, no cinchiness at all. I’ve lightly worked her in the round pen and climbed on. She steers some, is still green on her stop and backup, but she has been calm, willing, and not reactive. No broncing, no drama — and I never felt unsafe.

She needs time, direction, and someone patient who understands that vision-impaired horses benefit from steady handling and clear communication- She has shown every sign of wanting to be someone’s partner.

**As it looks more like I may be keeping her as a recip mare, she IS exposed as of March 11th to a jack donkey. (I don't think he's tall enough to get to her though). Please feel free to ask more details if interested in her.
