Mustang Mare with Great Potential
Felicia is a 6 to 7-year-old mustang mare who is working on building a good foundation and has a lot to offer the right person. She has been started under saddle and is ready for a confident, experienced handler to continue her training and help her progress.
She is soft and responsive on the lead rope, lunges well, and stands okay for fly spray and grooming. Felicia is very curious and genuinely interested in people, often choosing to watch and has a strong desire to engage.... (read more) She is intelligent and tends to learn quickly when given clear, consistent direction.
Like many mustangs, she can be flighty in new situations and is still improving with catching, picking up her feet, and standing tied. With steady handling and patience, she continues to move forward and build confidence.
Felicia would do best with someone experienced who enjoys developing a horse and taking part in the process of creating a solid partner. Or she would be great to send to a reputable trainer you have in mind! She offers a great opportunity for someone looking for a smart, athletic mare they can shape and grow with.
She also has a distinct speck of blue in her left eye, giving her a unique and memorable look to match her potential. She's already got the look of the horse of your dreams, so what's the hold up?
All horses adopted through Nexus Equine come with an up to date coggins, vaccines, microchip, deworming and dental. Proceeds of adoption go right back into our program to help Oklahoma horses and owners, so thank you for considering adoption!
Nexus Equine
We believe there are times when horses find themselves in at-risk situations and need outside support and resources. As a result, all horses have a specific individually designed program that promotes the highest potential of each horse.... (read more)
The final step in our adoption process is matching the right person with the right horse, creating positive outcomes for the equine community. Horses need resources and support when they are no longer appropriate for current discipline or environment. Nexus provides those option either by putting horses in our adoption and transport programs OR by providing assistance to horse owners with veterinary and farrier care so that horses can remain at home.
Nexus collaborates and partners with other equine organizations, horse and breed associations, national animal welfare organizations and horse enthusiasts on a local and national level to help horses more efficiently and effectively. Our team works hard to help Oklahoma horses—check out recent news coverage, press releases, and social media posts about our efforts in the News Center.
