Tyrus is a well broke ranch gelding that anyone can ride. He is quiet enough for a beginner and broke enough for the old pro. Tyrus has no problem opening/closing gates, he will walk down streams, and over fallen trees, he will walk over plastic bottles and wooden steps in our obstacle course, he will walk over the teeter-totter, we have trails with bridges and he has no problem going over them. He has no problem walking up/down steep ditches and ravines, he will go anywhere you point him, in the arena, through thick brush in the woods with no spook. He will ride the same way every time you ride him whether it be once a week, once a month, or once a year, don't have to worry about warming him up, just hop on and go.
He stands still while being saddled/bridled, clipped, groomed, being sprayed for flies, putting on a fly mask, picking his feet and for the vet/farrier. Stands still while being mounted (from the ground or a mounting block), while standing tied (regular and crossed tired), he loads well and hauls well. He is easy to catch, is very gentle, and has great ground manners. He is kid friendly and gets along with all of our other horses, mares, and geldings alike.
He would be a great prospect for; pony club, jumping, ranch sorting team, team penning, pony horse, mounted patrol, play days, drill team, barrels, poles, grand entry, parades, trail riding, walk-trot, lead line, or as a lesson horse. He would make an excellent all around family horse, or he would make a nice second horse.
Tyrus is a beautiful, chestnut gelding standing 16.1hh with a white strip down his face, a kind eye, a strong thick neck, nice withers, a straight back, a wide chest and hip. He is a good size for larger/taller ridders. Tyrus has a good mind and learns quickly, has a good disposition, and is smart enough to learn any type of job.
