Bob Ross is a very good-looking well built gelding standing 15.1 hands that anyone can ride. He is very well broke and EXTREMELY gentle and has been ridden by the very young (4) to the aged (84). He can be enjoyed by the most timid of riders and will make them confident. He will ride bareback in just a halter, single-tripple, or saddled and bridled. He has a good handle and rides on a loose one hand neck rein, direct rein, will ride off leg pressure, and has a good backup and stop.... (read more) He is very smooth at the walk, trot, and canter. We have used him for trail rides and lessons for a teen boy. He will ride anywhere you point him with no spook.
He will open and close gates, carry a flag, walk across water, down, streams, through thick brush, over fallen trees, down and across deep ditches/ravines, and walk over bridges with no spook. He has been used in the obstacle course walking on plastic bottles, across bridges, and walking the teeter-totter. He will stand quietly for the farrier/vet, while being bathed and groomed. While being saddled and being mounted from either the ground or mounting block. He will stand tied to the trailer or in the cross ties. He is a type of horse you can ride once a week once a month or once a year. He is dog and friendly, gentle and easy to catch (he will catch you), has GREAT ground manners, and gets along with all of our other horses, mares and geldings alike. He loads and hauls very well.
Bob Ross would be a great prospect for ranch sorting, team penning, grand entry, parades, barrels, poles, drill team, queens contest, mounted patrol, a pony horse, Western pleasure, playdays, a trail horse, trail horse competitions, walk-trot, lead line or as a lesson horse.
Bob is a beautiful tobino gelding with great conformations standing 15.1 hands, with a nice head with a kind eye, strong neck, and shoulder, nice withers, straight back, wide chest, and hips. Bob Ross has a beautiful mane with highlights and lowlight the women pay BIG $$$ for, a long forelock and tail. He is a good size for a larger/taller rider, he can easily carry 250 pounds.
