Cornbread!
Are you looking for a go anywhere, solid trail horse. Then cornbread is your guy. This is a pull out, jump on, crack a beer open and go ride with your friends kinda dude. May be a cool mounted patrol prospect.
Standing at 16plus hands, I need to tape however I am 5’5 and his withers are clear over my head. So not a hair under. 14yo grade gelding. If you want short, please don’t message me, if you don’t want tall, he’s not the one.... (read more)
Cornbread travels ears forward looking ahead, always on the lookout for where he’s going, while this may seem “looky” to some, he is in his element. He is calm and at ease when he’s out! Dirtbikes, kids on trampolines, tractors, loud trucks, weed wackers, dogs, chickens, goats, this horse has seen it all. He was being used to heard a farm of goats before coming to me!
He is the FIRST to greet you at the gate, quite annoyingly actually lol. He makes sure you don’t miss him. Great with other horses. He’s in a pen with my sons smaller horse right now, don’t have pasture but he was pastured previously. He is BAREFOOT! Sound to my very best knowledge. I can count on one hand the horses I’ve been able to leave barefoot out here. We have nothing but huge rock and clay. Cornbread ties quiet, hauls, loads easy, no pullback. Saddles, bridles, no kick bite, etc.
I will bring him to the trail course if he doesn’t sell before then, however price will increase.
He will ride out on trail alone or in a group, rides down the road, etc. MORE WOAH THAN GO.
I have been working with him in the arena, it’s not his thing. The videos he will look pretty dang nice, however I have been riding along time, and have been riding him in the arena every day since he’s been here. He has the SMOOTHEST gates. Picks up leads. Backs. Nothing extremely fancy. Previous owners let him throw a temper tantrum when asked to lope, he in no way buck bolts or rears. However he will kinda throw his head around, kinda do a fat cow hump. NOTHING dangerous, NOTHING that will get anyone off. However if you aren’t stern with him, he will just try and get away with walking around. I put the absolute worst he’ll do in the videos. For this reason and this reason only I recommend an intermediate rider in the arena or a beginner with a trainer. Watch the video before you shy away, I will make him seem way worse than his is. However. This is not what I am showing, or selling him as. He wants, and needs to be a trail horse. He enjoys it. So while I can sit here and lope a million circles in the arena for you, I’m not going to, if that’s what you want to see that’s not the home he needs to go to. My video will show plenty of it if you decide to buy him and go against what I know he wants his home to be then that is on you. Again this horse is not in any way mean, or dangerous I would not be on his back if he was. I enjoy this horse to just mosey around and trail ride on. He’s easy to get along with, easy to handle. Walk in and blanket him. Non hassle kinda guy. No known injuries, no known health issues. No maintenance, haven’t had any issues with him.
6000 obo. This is for a very uncomplicated sale. Be ready to come with cash and trailer. Please talk to whoever you need to talk to, wife, husband, dog, trainer, barn manager, etc before contacting me. If my way of selling doesn’t work for you, I get it, I don’t need comments about it, or rude messages.
