Maple Leaf Rosa is a 7 year old, registered, black roan, imported Canadian Clydesdale mare that stands 16.2hh. With a size 6 foot and the classic Clydesdale look, Rosie is a stunning mare that has spent the majority of her life on the ranch and in the mountains. She is a solid citizen- she ties, loads, backs out of trailers, is good to trim, clip, and fly spray, and is always easy to catch, gentle on the ground, and very friendly. She always runs in a mixed herd in big country, and will hold her own, but is never a bully. Outside, Rosie has been used extensively as a trail horse leading guest strings, packing in the backcountry, and moving cows(though that’s not her favorite job) in big country. She will go absolutely anywhere you point her, and is not your typical slow footed draft horse, she has the motor to go all day and has no quit!

At home, she is my go to for getting colts halterbroke, packing into camp, and she rides nicely in the arena as well. Undersaddle, Rosie moves off your leg nicely, is soft to your aids, and maneuvers like a much smaller horse. She stays the same with time off, with no funny business to work through, but can start off a little watchy at the beginning of every ride- though she does settle in very nicely after just a few minutes. Rosie has also been started ground driving, and would be a great prospect to continue to be driven, but would require an experienced trainer as her training in harness in minimal at the moment. With all of her miles and exposure, but since she is still young and slightly green, Rosie would be best fit for a knowledgeable horse person looking for a unique prospect to bring along. She is unique, you will stand out wherever you go! It’s not everyday that a big, flashy young mare with this many miles under her belt is available, and because this is a hard decision for me, I will be very picky as to where she goes. Rosie is UTD on feet, deworming and vaccinations.
