Rosa — Elegance, Versatility & the Disposition Everyone Wants
Rosa is the very definition of elegance and versatility.... (read more) This striking red roan mare stands 15 hands and weighs 1,200 pounds, carrying the kind of balance, presence, and natural class that make her impossible to overlook. Whether she’s cruising through the arena or covering country outside, she embodies everything a true all-around mare should be. Her rich roan color, correct conformation, and strong, feminine build give her undeniable eye appeal—she turns heads everywhere she goes.
We’ve owned Rosa for over a year, and she has been an absolute pleasure in every way. She’s easy to haul, an easy keeper, and genuinely enjoyable to have in the barn. On the ground, she is as ladylike and well-mannered as anyone could wish—steady, respectful, and quiet in every situation. She has also been used outside gathering cattle and navigates any terrain with confidence – we even rode her in the Pacific Ocean.
What truly makes Rosa exceptional goes far beyond her outward beauty. She is quiet, gentle, and eager to please, with a naturally friendly personality that makes her a joy to be around. Under saddle, she is uncomplicated, steady, and confidence-building while still offering the talent and responsiveness her pedigree promises. She’s just as enjoyable for daily riding as she is impressive when asked to step up and showcase her skills.
Rosa’s reining foundation is strong and correct. She is soft, willing, and broke the best—fun spins, smooth maneuvers, and a fabulous stop that is both effortless and powerful. She’ll leave long, clean 11s in the pen every time. With her combination of training and natural ability, Rosa is versatile enough to show, capable enough for ranch work, and classy enough to transition seamlessly into the broodmare band.
Her pedigree only adds to her value. Rosa is a granddaughter of the legendary Colonels Smoking Gun, one of the most influential sires the reining world has ever known. Her bottom side brings the proven power of Hollywoodstinseltown crossed on High Brow Cat, creating a rare blend of cow and reining bloodlines. This combination positions her to produce foals with both style and talent—an asset to any breeding program. With her conformation, genetics, temperament, and training, Rosa represents the complete package. Whether you’re looking for a versatile riding mare, a competitive show prospect, or a cornerstone broodmare, Rosa is one you will be proud to own.
We would love to introduce you to Rosa anytime. For more information or to arrange a visit, please call Estevan at 505 450 5519.
