Sound, sane, easy ride. Approx 17h with good bone and VERY clean legs. Retired sound from racing. This big guy has been lightly restarted by an experienced rider and he's very willing and kind. Jumps x-rails and small verticals. Not a stereotypical "hot" TB. He's got a really good brain and he's not spooky. Big, fluid stride that covers the ground. No vices, he's been turned out in a big group as well as by himself. We've had this guy since he was 2, he was broke on our farm so there's no mysterious past trauma, no history of injury or illness.... (read more) Loads easily, ships, clips, stands great for the farrier. Shipped from NY to Tampa and back without issue. He's a very straightforward ride and happy to learn. Quiet and sensible enough for a lower level rider but with enough athletic ability to move up with a more advanced rider. This horse looks like he will be a great eventing prospect or jumper and would probably enjoy foxhunting as well. We retired him from racing when it looked like he wasn't competitive enough for the allowance level, and we didn't want to see him drop through the claiming ranks or suffer an injury. Price recently reduced and negotiable for the right person. I just have too many horses going into winter and not enough time for all of them.
