Say hello to Good Lil Spook, better known around the barn as “Hitman.” This gorgeous dark liver chestnut stallion is the kind that turns heads everywhere he goes — not just for his looks, but for his talent, temperament, and quiet confidence.... (read more)
Hitman is sired by the legendary Smart Spook, an NRHA $8.5 Million Dollar Sire with lifetime earnings of over $405,000, and out of a money-earning, producing dam whose foals continue to carry forward that proven performance heritage. With that kind of lineage, it’s no surprise that Hitman has both the genetics and the ability to excel in the show pen and become a valuable asset in any breeding program.
He is the picture of balance and quality — big-boned, thick-made, and conformationally flawless, yet still refined with that classic baby-doll head everyone loves. His rich liver chestnut coat gleams in the sunlight, and his long, full mane and thick tail only add to his striking presence. Every detail about him, from the way he carries himself to the softness in his expression, speaks of a horse with both class and character.
In the arena, Hitman is all business — powerful, correct, and stylish. He’s been shown successfully in the Level 4 Open, marking a solid 217, and has earned over $1,600 NRHA. He’s a huge stopper who slides deep and straight, with quick, snappy spins and fast, effortless circles that stay soft in the bridle. His lead changes are seamless, and his cadence and rhythm make him a pleasure to watch and to ride. He’s the kind of horse that makes it easy to look good in the show pen.
But what truly sets Hitman apart is his incredible disposition. For all his talent and power, he is remarkably kind and quiet. He loves people and greets everyone who walks by his stall with a nicker. Around the barn, he’s as easy as they come — respectful, gentle, and eager to please. Even though he’s a stallion, he handles and rides with the mind of a gelding. Our 6-year-old daughter rides him regularly, and the two of them absolutely adore each other. He’s patient, steady, and has that rare, trustworthy nature that makes him a barn favorite.
Outside the show pen, Hitman is as versatile as he is dependable. He enjoys going down the trail and takes everything in stride — crosses bridges, obstacles, and water of any depth without hesitation. He’ll open and close gates, check the mail, and even work cattle, always calm and confident no matter the setting. His surefootedness and quiet confidence make him a joy to ride anywhere.
Good Lil Spook is the complete package — world-class pedigree, proven show record, flawless conformation, and a golden disposition. Whether you’re looking for your next show horse, a top-tier addition to your breeding program, or simply a kind partner with the looks and personality to win hearts, Hitman is the kind of stallion that doesn’t come along often. He has passed a pre-purchase exam.
