Vendetta
“V” - v is a 15 hh 2023 (april) IALHA registered Andalusian filly out of Noble XLIII. This mare has the BEST in your pocket personality. She LOVES people, will follow you along the fence line, greet you at the gate, twitch her lip while being groomed and is quite literally the least marish mare i’ve ever met. If you didn’t see her outside flirting with the boys you would have no idea she was in season anywhere else.... (read more) She is so smart, and willing to learn, she can be testy, but in an immature adolescent way, not in a “know it all” kind of way. I have never had to teach her the same thing twice, sometimes just remind her that I haven’t changed my boundaries.
V has about 10 rides under saddle as of may 28th and is currently being ridden walk/trot 1-2 times per week, and groundwork/ponying the remainder of the week. She is confident at the walk, and gains confidence trotting by the session. She lines up and patiently stands at the mounting block, and has developed an understanding for steering, yielding to pressure, transitions within the walk and in/out of gaits. She has been extremely straightforward and seems to possess the qualities of an amateur friendly mount as she matures. She has not exhibited any naughty behaviors under saddle. I would not consider her spooky, however she does look twice at changes of color in the footing such as wet spots and sun beams (NOT shadows) I do believe this will get better with exposure as once she crosses it, she does not balk at it the rest of our ride. She takes a bridle softly and has no flinch when being saddled. She will walk over poles, logs, and tarps. She still looks at puddles, but will go through them with soft encouragement. She has been ponied out on trails 1-2 times per week all summer long, and is very brave about traversing through terrain and obstacles.
She has a forward thinking gait that and maintains her motor, without being sensitive or reactive to leg/whip aids. she has learned well to responds to leg pressure through voice aids taught through groundwork and lunging, and voice commands are slowly being taken away and replaced with leg aids.
she offers a nice forward and downward stretch through her neck once she settles into the trot, and has a great stretch over her back and over reach in her free walk.
V is signed up to compete in her first schooling show at Intro A July 19th, where she will have roughly about 15 rides under saddle by.
She loads on the trailer, hauls quietly, stands on the xties, and stands for the vet and farrier. she does need to be held for the farrier during hind feet, but does not exhibit dangerous behavior. She is nervous about needles with the vet, and will flinch but otherwise does well, including standing on blocks for radiographs without sedation.
V is an extremely easy keeper, living off balancer, weighed out hay portions in a double net, and barefoot with no signs of soreness when walked with a rider on gravel.
Her price is FIRM, as I really don’t need to sell her, but I would be happy to see her find another incredible home as well.
